Interdisciplinary Research

The most important goal of the Research Training Group is to provide a comprehensive and excellent education for its doctoral researchers. It provides forward-looking education that strongly supports both a promising scientific career and a career in industry. The training is structured by a college-specific study programme with specially designed basic and advanced lectures, colloquia, and workshops in the combined subject areas of quantum systems and quantum information.

    • Training on good scientific practice
    • RTG colloquium
    • RTG retreats / international conferences

Intensive training program in the first 6 months as a team-building measure

  • Training on safety and good scientific practice
  • Training in targeted online research and computer-aided literature management
  • Training on research data management and “PLEXY”
  • Workshop on „Unconscious bias - unconscious thought patterns“

  • RTG seminars, colloquia, interest groups
  • RTG retreat

after the first 6 months

  • Significant reduction in the number of RTG events
  • RTG seminars and colloquia are increasingly organized by doctoral researchers
  • Doctoral researchers identify future events they would like to attend, e.g.,
    • special lectures, workshops, and (brown bag) seminars
    • doctoral researcher rotation
    • planning international schools, conferences, and stays abroad
    • management courses
    • innovative concepts
